Customer Value - In today's environment prices are based on what the customer values and is willing to pay for, not cost plus margin
Value Stream - To compete, waste must be found and removed in every process: materials, handling, information, physical processes, etc. Value stream mapping and analysis helps find the actions that don't add value
Flow - Continuous processing flowing rather than large batches plodding through the plant
Pull - Only create what is "pulled" by customer demand, not for stock to sit and wait
Perfection - When you get a plant or process "fixed," start over. Lean manufacturing is continuous improvement
